About the site

This site is and outlet for Jim and Sheldon to write about things mostly related to programming, games, books, web development, engineering management, events, or just about anything that is bothering us or otherwise interesting.

Early on we recognized that the urge to write only ever happened when something went wrong. Hence the “you failed” part of the domain. As time went by it was less and less about what was troublesome and more just a place to write things down that we want to remember. But the domain was still funny so we kept it.

About us

Back in the day we organized and participated in LAN parties to play games like Age of Empires and Unreal Tournament.  We waited in line for the Wii . . . overnight.  We went to E3 when Nintendo, NINTENDO, was giving out free beer (not sure if we got into a restricted area on accident in hindsight).  We hacked the original XBox to run games from the hard drive just because the games loaded faster.  Same for the PSP (well, Sheldon did that . . . Jim was never dumb enough to buy a PSP).
