You should be thankful, the 32-bit apps will utilize less RAM. I think an interesting test would be to take an open source project, compile as 32-bit and 64-bit executable, and then benchmark the two.

OMG! You nailed it! In fact, I found your site while trying to google where I could find the wholesaler that made the cake!! We have had it for my son’s birthday since 2001, and his birthday is next week, and I just found out they don’t have it anymore!! I am soooooo bummed I could just scream! If you ever find the commercial bakery that made them, please let me know. I am kicking myself for not paying attention to the label on the box all the other times we bought the whole cake!!!

I am glad I am not the only one who was pissed! Bet you’ll find more of us in the days to come!

i agree about the cake – the best thing about buca was the original version with the best frosting i ever had, the cake itself had an amazing flavor, and the spumoni chips made it excellent – this “new version” is super cheap with this super-cheap whip cream fluff/substitute for frosting, 3 layers of tasteless lite spongecake, and coconut – it doesn’t make sense at all….

I’m gonna try it this weekend, but I’ll probably be making little teabags for the skittles with the coffee filters instead. And I’m not into the pretty bottles.. (they [hopefully] won’t stay full too long) so any steps I can cut out in between is a bonus. Shucks.. I’ll probly wind up just chewing the candies right out of the bag and swigging and mixing the drink in my mouth.

ps: how’d it turn out if Hot Tamales or RedHots were used instead?

Unfortunately – nope. Maps is closed source, and we can’t hack on it like we can with the browser.

Yeah, in addition to the script, it has to run dexopt which builds odex files – it takes a long time but makes it faster in the future.

The app really IS one click. When zinx sent it to me, it required no explanation and I rooted the phone I had reverted to stock in 30 seconds flat.

Since the intended audience of the app is clearly not people who have already rooted their phones (otherwise, what’s the point) – it’s necessary to explain every little step.

Even WITH explaining every step of the way, you might notice there are about 50 comments on the blog article talking about it where people ask questions that were already answered in the text in at least one spot – so I would add another.

The article was much shorter when it was first published, but I kept adding things as people kept asking questions about different aspects of it.

Anyway – glad it worked for you, and even more glad that I didn’t have to hold your hand through it!

Well, I’m sure it’s not lard but it just looked and felt like it. All those “oils” are just some form of lard anyway . . . but maybe the technical term for “lard” is animal fat, I don’t know. In fact, I never hear anyone talk about lard anymore. It’s just a term I remember from when I was a kid.

Oh, and no need for pictures . . . it turned out just like the one from “mixthatdrink” . . . I even got the same bottles!

Sadly, just like regular Skittles, no one wanted the lemon flavor!

Dude, I’m sure it ain’t lard. More than likely it’s the hydrogenated vegetable oil, which I see in the ingredients list. Actually the Wikipedia article on it is quite fascinating. Here’s a snippet: “Hydrogenation results in the conversion of liquid vegetable oils to solid or semi-solid fats”.
